PTI is dedicated to accommodating the oil companies that house their employees in PTI’s executive lodges. In addition to building remote site services, PTI must keep up with the flux in schedules of the thousands of on-site oil workers. Oil workers often work several days or weeks at a time, leave for a couple of days, and return to the camp for another long stretch. PTI bills oil companies for camp accommodations and additionally for the days workers enjoy meal service at PTI. The days in which workers have meal service are known as service days. PTI was looking for a camp management software system to automate, record, and forecast service days. INNfinity Software Systems was able to engineer such a system.

A Seamless Service Solution

Service days were difficult for PTI to determine. Initially, it was up to Housekeeping to physically enter hundreds of rooms each day to determine if a worker had occupied the room the previous evening. Based on their findings, Accounting manually calculated a bill for each oil company, including a breakdown of room charges and service days for each employee. INNfinity V2 camp management software was able to provide an automated solution. INNfinity designed a custom interface to read PTI’s existing security card/key card system. Each oil worker must swipe his security card/key card when entering the restaurant and/or his room. Based on the swipe, INNfinity V2 camp management software was able to record the service day and route the charge to the appropriate oil company account. This custom interface saved PTI thousands of hours in labor costs and eliminated billing errors. PTI generated flawless bills in record time. The faster they generated invoices, the faster they received payment from the oil companies. Furthermore, INNfinity camp management software offered reports that forecasted service days, based on worker schedules, allowing for the creation of an accurate camp/lodge budget for accommodations, meal preparation, and supplies. PTI’s largest camp/lodge site, the Executive Lodge at Athabasca, boasts 1,800 rooms-many of which are shared.
